Aims & Scope
The International Journal of Social Studies in Sport (IJSSS) aims to advance scholarly knowledge on the social dimensions of sport, recreation, and physical activity. The journal provides an international and interdisciplinary platform for researchers, academics, practitioners, and policymakers to examine sport within its social, cultural, educational, psychological, managerial, legal, and policy-related contexts.
IJSSS welcomes high-quality empirical, theoretical, conceptual, and review-based studies that contribute to contemporary debates in sport and the social sciences. Interdisciplinary research that offers new perspectives on the relationship between sport and society is particularly encouraged.

The journal welcomes manuscripts on, but not limited to, the following areas:

IJSSS publishes original research articles, review articles, systematic reviews, theoretical and conceptual papers, and short communications that make a clear scholarly contribution to the field.
Manuscripts submitted to IJSSS should demonstrate a clear connection between sport, recreation, or physical activity and relevant social, cultural, educational, psychological, managerial, legal, or policy-related dimensions.
Studies that do not establish a meaningful relationship with sport and the social sciences may be considered outside the scope of the journal.
