About the Journal
The International Journal of Social Studies in Sport (IJSSS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to advancing scholarly knowledge on the social, cultural, educational, psychological, managerial, legal, and policy-related dimensions of sport, recreation, and physical activity.
IJSSS provides an interdisciplinary platform for researchers, academics, practitioners, and policymakers to examine sport as a social phenomenon and to contribute to contemporary debates within sport and the social sciences.
The journal particularly welcomes research addressing sport management and governance, sport sociology and culture, recreation and leisure studies, physical education and pedagogy, sport policy and law, sport psychology and social behavior, gender and inclusion, youth and community development, sport communication and media, sustainability, digital transformation, and other interdisciplinary issues related to sport and society.
IJSSS publishes original research articles, review articles, systematic reviews, theoretical and conceptual papers, and short communications that make a clear scholarly contribution to the field.
The journal applies a double-blind peer review process and is committed to academic integrity, editorial independence, transparency, and ethical scholarly publishing.
IJSSS is published online twice a year, in May and November. Manuscripts may be submitted throughout the year.
